ROCK CLIMBING
By Margaret Hirosky
Seton LaSalle High School students were climbing to the top! Students recently went on a rock climbing trip at FA Climbing Station in Station Square on November 16, 2023. This trip was chaperoned by Mrs. K.R. and Mr. Ayer.
“Rock climbing is one of my favorite hobbies, and being able to do it with Mrs. K.R. and Mr. Ayer makes it that much better,” said a student.
Students of every grade level were welcomed and were not required to have any experience or training. They could wear their everyday clothes.
“I love that we are able to climb even if we never have before; it was very inclusive,” stated another student.
Mrs. K.R. said, “I feel like it is nice for the kids to do because it is not just challenging physically, but mentally.” Mrs. K.R. says she likes to see people accomplish things, especially students, which makes this activity really fulfilling for her.
The Adventure Club has been doing this for the past year and they go rock climbing four times in a year: twice in the fall and twice in the spring. Students say that this trip opened them up to opportunities and experiences they otherwise would have not had before.
